Pedsdoc Andromeda

Andy is such a sweet and friendly doe. Her udder is so soft and easy to hand milk. She has wonderful open orifices and large teats, just perfect for hand milking. She is also an extremely tall doe, which makes her udder look disappointing but her will to milk for as long as you want makes up for that!

Things we love about Andy are that she is just such an easy going doe. She is eager to jump on the stand and has never offered to kick, even after her first freshening.

2025:
Andromeda freshened with a single buckling, so we weren't able to see her full potential. She is still an excellent mother and a great milker! She is one of the most eager to get on the stand and will come right back to do it all over again and again and again! Andy has been bred again, and we got a genetic evaluation and linear appraisal under her.

July 2026:
Andy went with us to the Southwest Dairy Goat Association Double Showdown in June. She was such a doll and behaved so incredibly well. Andy is truly one of the does in our herd with the best temperaments! She let me clip her with no problem and let our 10 year old sons walk her around the ring. She was so patient and stood still when she was in the show ring. At the time of the show, we had been milking Andromeda for 7 months and the judges complimented on the fact that she looked to be a productive doe.

I've decided to let Andromeda go to a new herd. She is truly such a wonderful doe to work with, who I wholeheartedly believe would do well in any setting. She is an excellent mother and gave me a doeling that I would like to invest my time in. When I say that Andromeda is one of our favorites to milk I truly mean that! She is so easy to work with on the milk stand, its her favorite place! I cannot reiterate enough how much she loves it! She is very affectionate, sweet as can be and I have found that her offspring inherit that temperament. Although, her conformation is not correct in some areas, I have found that bred with the right buck her offspring display improvements in those areas lacking. Her offspring also grow very well and are always among the firsts to be weaned. To her detriment, she loves over feeding her kids, losing condition very quickly. It would be best that she go to a herd that pulls kids at or before 3 months after freshening, or that will remove them soon after freshening. Andy does really well being milked twice a day and she can most definitely go to a herd that does not machine milk.
